The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the development of knowledge in the field of stem cells, focusing
mainly on the latest scientific knowledge and its exploitation in regenerative medicine. The lectures are divided
thematically: 1) Introduction into stem cell biology, 2) Embryonic stem cells, 3) Adult stem cells, 4) Induced
pluripotent stem cells 5) Hematopoietic stem cells 6) Tissue engineering, 6) Tissue repair from stem cells. The
course is taught in English. The requirement to obtain 2 credits is a physical participation in a course with only one
absence allowed and passing a short test during the last lesson.
