In this course we will work with materials covering the period of Russian history from the 10th century to the 20th Century. How Russia Walked into the 20th Century. This topic includes historical events from the 10th century onwards. History of Ukraine (selected events, facts, people). - Zaporizhian Sich. Hetmanism - events of the 20th century The Last Romanov. Russian-Japanese War 1904-1905. The Revolution of 1917 and the Civil War. Soviet propaganda and Russian culture. In addition to historical aspects, the course will include texts on the history of culture: art, architecture, literature. Students can actively participate in the development of the course programme and propose topics of interest or related to their specialisation.
