One-semester course, 1 session x 90 mins week and is supplemented by home preparation supporting learner´s autonomy (the student focuses on what interests him/her, what he/she is not good at, what competences he/she wants to develop).

The course is intended for all students with a minimum level of B1 who want to improve their language knowledge and skills to reach B1+ level.
For successful preparation for the Russian B2 exam, we recommend the Russian course: Preparing for the B2 exam, which will take place in the summer semester and will be a follow-up to the B2.1 course

The course will focus on the development of all language and communication skills - see the syllabus for details.

The aim of the course is to develop all language skills (listening, reading, writing, speaking) so that a student with an initial knowledge of B1 can reach the B1+/B2 level according to the European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) together with home preparation

At the same time, attention is paid to the development of various teaching strategies and techniques that, with the help of modern tools (e.g. anki), help to improve in a foreign language on their own.

The course ends with a credit (3 credits), which is awarded after the following conditions are met:

attendance - class attendance

completion of all the assignments that the instructor makes compulsory

active work in class

submission of written work: 1 letter, 1 essay - preparation for the written part of the B2 exam

oral presentation on a selected topic

successful completion of the final credit test, which verifies mastery of the material covered (min. 60% correct answers)

The materials come from preparation textbooks for the certified exams, grammar or vocabulary textbooks, and original Russian language resources. The course practices all four language skills equally: reading, listening, speaking and writing.

An overview of the phenomena covered

Grammatical structures: repetition of inflection of nouns, adjectives and personal pronouns, verb tenses, verbs of motion, verb completions and incompletions. Compound sentences;

Vocabulary topics and focus: study, internet, global issues, economics, environment, relationships, travel (topics: ''Человек.Личность'', ''Учёба. Карьера'', ''Как бороться со стрессом'', ''Наш дом- наша планета'', ''Проблемы экологии'', ''Путешествия. Традиции и обычаи разных стран'');

Basic vocabulary related to the field of study;

Writing: essay structure, basic types - argumentative essay, descriptive essay, letter of recommendation, summary of a professional text

Reading: preparation for the types of questions and tasks found in the B2 exam;

Listening: preparation for the B2 exam. The relevant lessons are accompanied by audio and video recordings;

Speaking: preparation for the B2 exam; oral presentation of own project, discussion.
