The goal to be achieved is mastery of the Dutch language at A1 level according to the shared European Framework of Reference. At the end of the course, students are expected to be able to understand and use familiar everyday expressions and basic phrases aimed at satisfying concrete needs. They should also be able to introduce themselves to others and ask and answer questions about personal details such as where they live, people they know and things they own. Their active vocabulary should be around 500 words and their passive vocabulary around 1000 words. |

We use the method Contact! Nederlands voor anderstaligen, deel 1. In addition, we make use of other methods, such as Zichtbaar Nederlands, authentic examples and various online resources. The students receive the material to be studied from their teachers and do not have to do anything themselves to obtain it. |

The subject is assessed on the basis of three criteria: 1. participation during the lessons and by doing homework; 2. a written test; 3. an oral test. Each part of the assessment is equally weighted, and each criterion must be satisfactorily fulfilled. The assessment criteria can be found in the course description. |
