The lectures held in Greek will present the refugee in modern Greek literature of the 20th century: In 1922, exactly one hundred years ago, one and a half million refugees from Asia Minor were uprooted from their homeland and settled in Greece. By a tragic coincidence, this year saw the start of yet another war and yet another refugee crisis in the heart of Europe. Students from the University of Prague and other Universities will participate in the online course reading Greek poets, their traumatic memory as of the refugees – the uprooting, the journey, and the settlement in the new homelands; all this is bitterly and boldly captured in Greek literature.
Getting to know this literature is the goal of our course. We will look for images of the refugee and fragments of history in the work of Giorgos Seferis, Yiannis Ritsos, Nikos Kazantzakis, Giorgos Ioannou and others, as well as in extensive excerpts from Dido Sotiriou's. On these texts we will discuss linguistic, stylistic, cultural and historical issues and at the same time, we will examine cartoons that refer to the drama of refugees diatopically as well as diachronically.

Requirements:
1. Active participation in lessons 75%.
2. Two small projects, to be presented in the course (language of presentation: Greek, English, German)

Φέτος συμπληρώνονται εκατό χρόνια από τη Μικρασιατική Καταστροφή, που αποτελεί ένα από τα πιο δραματικά γεγονότα της νεότερης ιστορίας, και που έχει σημαδέψει την ελληνική κοινωνία. Η τραυματική μνήμη των προσφύγων - ο ξεριζωμός, το ταξίδι και η εγκατάσταση στις νέες πατρίδες - αποτυπώθηκε με πίκρα και τόλμη στην ελληνική λογοτεχνία.
Η γνωριμία με τη λογοτεχνία αυτή είναι ο στόχος του μαθήματός μας. Θα αναζητήσουμε εικόνες της προσφυγιάς και θραύσματα της ιστορίας στο έργο του Γιώργου Σεφέρη, του Γιάννη Ρίτσου, του Νίκου Καζαντζάκη, του Γιώργου Ιωάννου και άλλων, καθώς και σε εκτεταμένα αποσπάσματα από τα “Ματωμένα χώματα” της Διδώς Σωτηρίου. Πάνω σε αυτά τα κείμενα θα συζητήσουμε θέματα γλωσσικά, υφολογικά, πολιτιστικά, ιστορικά. Παράλληλα, θα ακούσουμε τραγούδια, θα δούμε ταινίες και θα εξετάσουμε εικαστικά έργα που αναφέρονται στο δράμα των προσφύγων, διαχρονικά και διατοπικά.

Απαιτήσεις:
1. Ενεργή συμμετοχή στα μαθήματα 75%.
2. Δύο μικροεργασίες, που θα παρουσιαστούν στο μάθημα (γλώσσες εργασίας: ελληνικά, αγγλικά, γερμανικά)
