Annotation -
The course is aimed at improving listening and communication skills in German. Students will
work with authentic audio-visual materials and get the opportunity to develop their
communication skills through interactive exercises. Emphasis will be placed on practical
application of German in real-life situations and discussion of current topics.
The course is approximately aimed at the B2 SERR language level and follows the lines of the
European Framework of Reference for Languages at B2 level: "The user is able to understand
the main meanings of complex texts on concrete and abstract topics; he/she also understands
professional discussions in his/her field. He or she can communicate spontaneously and fluently,
so that normal conversation with a native speaker on both sides is possible without much effort.
He can express himself clearly and in detail on a wide range of topics; he can take a position on
current issues and state the pros and cons of different solutions."

Course completion requirements -

The prerequisite for successful completion of the course is:
1. regular attendance (maximum 3 absences allowed)
2. active and constructive participation in the class (especially active participation in
discussions and feedback to other participants)
3. completion of homework assignments
4. meeting the required deliverables (presentations for the Erinnerungsorte and
MUN-Conference).

Absences are not allowed during the two outputs (i.e. 16.10. and 04.12.).
In the case of serious reasons that prevent participation on these dates, it is possible to arrange individually for an alternative form of attestation, but this arrangement must be made in advance and will depend on the teacher's assessment of the situation.
