This course is designed for students in the English-language teacher-training study programme who would like to improve their command of various aspects of English grammar. The primary focus is on deepening grammatical knowledge, refining the command of complex structures, and increasing awareness of advanced grammatical rules. Additionally, the course aims to equip the students as future teachers with the pedagogical skills necessary to effectively explain and teach grammar to their own students. Credit requirements Regular attendance in the seminars (3 points for each attended seminar). Each absence results in 5% being deducted from the overall score. Completion of weekly Moodle assignments (each week max. 5 points based on the accuracy of the answers). Once in the term prepare a worksheet with excercises for revising previous week's content a carrying out a micro-teaching with this worksheet (c. 10 minutes). Each student will do this once a term based on a timetable discussed in the first seminar. (20 points for the worksheet + 26 points for-micro-teaching) Successful completion of a mid-term test in Week 7 covering the grammar aspect from previous weeks (max. 50, minimum 67% to pass, otherwise a resit is necessary – max. one resit). Successful completion of the final test in the exam period (max. 100 points, minimum 67% to pass, otherwise a resit is necessary – max. one resit).
Maximum number of points for the whole terms is 300.
Grading criteria (% out of the maximum of 300 points)
