The primary aim is to inform students about some general rules in chemistry and an application of chemistry in medical practice. Students should be oriented in nomenclature of inorganic and organic compounds and they should be able to calculate basic chemical problems (concentration and pH of solutions). Principles of analytical methods and general toxicology are also included. The second aim is to give an overview describing the structure, properties and importance of natural products (nucleic acids, saccharides, lipids, amino acids and proteins). |
