Nowadays, the semiotic approaches penetrate in many musicological disciplines; they are becoming a useful and universally usable method. In pedagogy they clarify important questions, for instance what the music can express and how, what work procedures in analysis of music used in schools can develop musical thinking, how are applied problems from music history or interpretation (performing) etc. It is worth seeing subject matter as multilateral dialog motivated by need to learn.
