Methods and strategies I is an optional course which provides the participants with in-depth insight into methodology of teaching English as a foreign language. It covers the following methods: Grammar-Translation, Direct, Audio-Lingual, Silent Way, Suggestopedia, Community Language Learning, Communicative Approach, Content and Language Integrated Learning and Content-based Teaching. Students will get acquainted with the methods, their main principles, characteristic features and typical strategies on both teoretical and practical levels. Participants will be asked to get involved in short peer teaching units.
