The course gives an overview of norms and standards in cryptography and their classification according to various criteria (way of publishing, liability, publishers, content). Students will get acquainted with legal regulations in this area valid in the Czech Republic (including evaluation of cryptographic methods).

Basic concepts (standard, norm, de facto norm). Norms by publishers (IEEE, ISO, ANSI, NIST-FIPS, IETF, PKCS, EU). Norms by contents (symmetric cryptography, hash functions, asymmetric cryptography, electronic signature, protocols). Acts 148/1998, 101/2000, 227/2000 and regulations. Evaluation of cryptographic modules (FIPS, CC - ISO 15408, ITSEC, ...).
