Attendance at the seminars is compulsory. The final assessment comprises a seminar term paper (an analysis of syntactic phenomena in a text) and an examination. Details of the seminar paper assignment will be announced during the lectures, and are available in Moodle. The seminar paper must be marked by the teacher as acceptable before the student takes the examination. The examination consists of a written test and oral interview. Both parts comprise topics covered in Syntax I and Syntax II. The assessment includes the student's proficiency and stylistically adequate use of English. In order to take the oral part of the examination, the student must pass the written test, with the score of 70% at least. If the student fails, he or she may re-sit the examination twice. |
