During the field trip the characteristic features of the basic lithotectonic units of the Bohemian Massif and West Carpathians are demonstrated. The first part of the excursion to the Bohemian Massif is devoted to tectonometamorphic and paleotectonic characteristics of the pre-Variscan fundament and the structure of the pre-Variscan and Variscan crust in individual distinguished terranes. During this field major unit of the platform cover are demonstrated. Mechanisms of basin origins, architecture of the basin fills are presented and paleogeographic relations are discussed. |
