English learning and language development will be based on classroom discussion, debates, workshops, seminars and facilitated sessions. The teacher will frequently be in the role of facilitator but this task will also be assigned to students working in groups in the various sessions. There is a heavy emphasis on oral communication in this course. |

COURSE REQUIREMENTS: (i) Two minor tests during the semester or one complex test in January (pass level: 65%). (ii) Timely submission of assignments (glossaries, structured summaries, etc.). (iii) Active participation in a group project (with the emphasis on using specific vocabularly and academic presentation skills). (iv) Course attendance is highly advisable.

There is no placement test; however, students are advised to consider their level of English when choosing this language course. The recommended level of English is at least B2+ (CEFR). Please note that there will be a short C-test at the beginning of the first session.
