The aim of the lecture is to introduce the audience to one of the phenomena of modern culture - swing music and the dance and subcultural style that stems from it. The history of jazz music and its encounter with politics – the rejection of this music in Europe, the rejection of jazz dances and related subcultures, and the youth protest movements growing out of jazz in different parts of the world (USA, France, Germany, Austria) will be presented in the form of interpretation and musical examples. |
