6 lectures - attendance at the introductory lecture is mandatory, the next 5 lectures - attendance is not checked. Seminars – compulsory participation in all 4 seminars + 15 minutes of presentation on the chosen topic. Detailed information and credit conditions will be provided at the first lecture. The course is aimed at getting to know selected chapters from the history of medicine in the context of philosophy and ethics. The course is primarily intended for students of general medicine and general nursing with an emphasis on inspiration for current clinical practice. As part of the lectures, students will learn about selected chapters from the history of nursing and medicine from ancient times to the present day. They get a basic, general overview of the history of nursing and medicine in the context of philosophy and ethics. As part of the seminars, they will present topics of their own choice related to history and ethics (e.g. book, article, film) followed by a discussion with other listeners. The goal is to support dialogue and own critical reflection on the topics offered. The aim of this course is to deepen and approach the historical and intellectual context from which Western medicine is based. |
