| Rašeliniště a slatiniště s převahou rašeliníku mají důležité ekosystémové funkce, včetně akumulace organické hmoty, stabilizace vodní bilance nebo poskytování stanovišť ohroženým druhům. Mezi méně známé funkce patří úloha akumulace rašeliny jako přírodního a kulturního archivu.
Cílem této práce je podat přehled o stabilizačních a konzervačních účincích rašeliníků (Sphagnum) na životní prostředí a zhodnotit a diskutovat funkci tvorby rašeliny jako archivu historie životního prostředí a antropologických a archeologických nálezů. |

| Sphagnum-dominated peat bogs and mires have important ecosystem functions, including the accumulation of organic matter, stabilizing water balance, or providing habitats for endangered species. Lesser-known functions include the role of peat accumulation as a natural and cultural archive.
This thesis aims to review the stabilizing and preserving effects of Sphagnum on the environment and to review and discuss the function of peat formation as an archive for environmental history and anthropological and archaeological finds. |
