Preliminary scope of work |
The idea behind active aging is becoming more important because the world’s population is getting older. Aging leads to many individual and collective challenges, including increased number of people at risk of chronic diseases, decreased physical activity, psychological and social vulnerability, and the health system difficulty in providing health care services. Aging will cause social, economic, medical, and health crises if not managed and prevented timely. This is why active aging is not a short-lived fad but, on the contrary, it is something very much needed nowadays. Objective 1: to study the Active Aging Index (AAI) in selected European countries (e.g. the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany) and its methodology. Objective 2: to compare AAI in these European countries, as well as policies related to active aging. Objective 3: to examine the potential application of the findings in the Republic of Belarus. |
