Preliminary scope of work |
Dále navozují oxidativní stres a ovlivňují metabolické parametry buněk. |
Preliminary scope of work in English |
Microplastics are small ubiqitous fragments of plastic ranging from 100 nm to 5 nm. Apart from the oceans, rivers, land and air, microplastics are also present in food. Plastics get into the nature through human activity, where they decompose to smaller fragments. Sources of microplastics are for instance cosmetic products, clothing and varieties of packaging materials. Several studies were published showing negative effects on biota, however the mode of toxicity is largely unclear. The aim of this bachelor thesis will therefore be to summarize a limited range of scientific papers describing the effects of microplastics at the cellular level. The discussed topic is new and important. Recent knowledge suggests that microplastics, and especially nanoplastics, affect the expression of studied genes in both in vitro and in vivo studies. They also induce oxidative stress and affect the metabolic parameters of cells. |
