| Tvar ulit suchozemských plžů a jejich povrchová struktura souvisí s prostředím, ve kterém žijí. Cílem doktorského projektu by mělo být testování souvislosti mezi tvarem a strukturou ulit plžů a jejich ekologickými nároky. Práce by měla propojovat znalosti a metody zoologie, klasické ekologie společenstev a makroekologie.
Pro testy budou využita již nasbíraná data z diplomové práce Anny Holubové a rozsáhlý soubor dat spravovaných školitelem a konzultantkou. Zadání nevylučuje sběr dat nových. |
| Preliminary scope of work in English |
| Shells of land snails and their structure is moulded by environment in which the individuals can survive and breed. The aim of the PhD project is (i) to formulate new, hypotheses on the relationships between the snail shell morphometry (e.g., life history) and their environment, and (ii) test these hypotheses together with the existing one. A particular aim of the thesis is to identify the adaptive and nonadaptive markers on the land snail shells in order to perform a back estimate of the snail environment. The work should bring the methods of zoology, standard ecology, and macroecology under one roof.
The existing data taken from diploma thesis of Anna Holubová, and extensive datasets that are managed by the supervisor and co-supervisor will be used to test the theories. New data collection is not excluded. |
