Guidelines

Výpočetní nebo též počítačová tomografie (CT) je zobrazovací metoda široce aplikovaná zejména v lékařství k zobrazení vnitřních orgánů člověka. CT využívá rentgenové záření, u něhož dochází při průchodu různými materiály k různému tlumení. K získání přijatelných snímků je pak třeba získané výstupy matematicky zpracovat. Výpočetně vede tato úloha na velkou soustavu rovnic, která navíc obsahuje chyby. Cílem práce je studium matematické formulace úlohy z počítačová tomografie a vybraných numerických metod pro její řešení. Podstatnou součástí budou numerické experimenty se snímky v Matlabu.

Preliminary scope of work in English

Computed tomography (CT) is an imaging method having applications especially in medical sciences to view inner areas of the scanned object. CT uses X-rays, that are dumped differently when coming through different materials. To get acceptable images, it is necessary to process the obtained outputs mathematically. Numerically this leads to a large system of equations containing errors. The goal of this thesis is to study mathematical problems connected with CT and some of their possible solutions. Emphasize will be put on numerical experiments with images in Matlab.
