Omega 3 poly-unsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFA) are considered to possess multiple functions, to prevent cardiac tissue remodeling and heart arrhythmias, to reduce lipid level, to possess direct interactions with cytosolic or mitochondrial proteins, to alter membrane fluidity and to affect various metabolic pathways.
