Předběžná náplň práce

Cílem této diplomové práce je analyzovat a kriticky zhodnotit etické aspekty Ashley Treatment, kontroverzního lékařského zásahu prováděného u dětí s těžkým mentálním a fyzickým postižením. Práce se zaměří na koncept tělesné integrity, autonomie a nejlepšího zájmu dítěte, přičemž bude brát v úvahu argumenty zastánců a kritiků této metody.
První část práce poskytne historický a kontextuální přehled případu Ashley X, včetně popisu lékařských zákroků a jejich odůvodnění. Následně bude práce zkoumat právní a etické rámce, které se vztahují na podobné zásahy do těla osob s postižením, a srovnávat je s běžně přijímanými lékařskými procedurami. Metodologicky bude práce vycházet z normativní etické analýzy, která umožňuje posoudit různé etické přístupy k problematice Ashley Treatment
Další kapitoly se budou věnovat podrobnému rozboru argumentů podporujících a kritizujících Ashley Treatment, včetně pohledů prominentních bioetiků,kteří se k léčbě vyjádřili, jako je Eva Feder Kittay či Peter Singer. Práce bude reflektovat širší společenské implikace tohoto případu, včetně jeho dopadu na diskusi o právech osob se zdravotním postižením a jejich postavení ve společnosti.
Závěrem se práce pokusí formulovat etická doporučení pro podobné případy v budoucnu, přičemž zváží alternativní přístupy k péči o osoby s těžkým postižením, které respektují jejich důstojnost a tělesnou integritu.

The aim of this thesis is to analyze and critically evaluate the ethical aspects of the Ashley Treatment, a controversial medical intervention performed on children with severe cognitive and physical disabilities. The thesis will focus on the concepts of bodily integrity, autonomy, and the best interests of the child, considering both the arguments in favor of this procedure and its criticisms.
