a. Theoretical Outline:
This research draws upon a multidisciplinary theoretical framework to investigate the role of the Arab diaspora in externalizing Arab-Israeli security threats and reshaping Arab nationalism. It is based on the concept of diaspora studies, which provides an understanding into the transnational connections, identities, and political agency of dispersed communities. Based on diaspora theories, including transnationalism and diaspora nationalism, this study examines how Arab diaspora communities navigate their relationships with both host and homeland contexts, particularly in the context of the Arab-Israeli conflict. Furthermore, nationalism theories mainly modernism, and constructivism, offer valuable perspectives on the construction of national identity and narratives within diaspora communities. By interrogating the interplay between diasporic and homeland nationalism, this research seeks to uncover how the Arab diaspora's engagement with Arab-Israeli security issues influences collective identity formation and political mobilization. Additionally, insights from security studies, particularly securitization theory, explains how external actors, including diaspora communities, contribute to the framing of security threats surrounding the conflict. Through this theoretical lens, the research aims to explain the complex dynamics shaping diaspora involvement in Arab-Israeli security narratives and its implications in Arab nationalism (re-)formation.
b. Methodological Outline:
This research adopts a qualitative research approach, utilising a combination of data collection methods to explore the role of the Arab diaspora in externalizing Arab-Israeli security threats and reshaping Arab nationalism. The methodological design includes several key components. Firstly, a comprehensive literature review will provide a foundational understanding of the historical context, theoretical frameworks, and existing research on the Arab diaspora, Arab-Israeli conflict, and nationalism studies. Building upon this literature review, the research will employ a case study methodology, focusing on selected Arab diaspora communities in different host countries, with a focus on the Western countries. Through interviews with people from these communities, participant observation, and document analysis, the study will investigate the political activities, narratives, and strategies employed by diaspora members in relation to Arab-Israeli security issues. Additionally, content analysis of media representations and online platforms will be conducted to examine the discursive construction of security threats and nationalist sentiments within diaspora communities. The media analysis will also investigate the indirect Arab nationalist identity reconstruction within the Arab World. By triangulating these diverse sources of data, the research aims to generate a nuanced understanding of the mechanisms through which the Arab diaspora influences perceptions of security threats and shapes nationalist ideologies in the context of the Arab-Israeli conflict.
Seznam odborné literatury
The Literature examined offers a nuanced analysis of key themes including nationalism, diaspora experiences, Arab nationalism, the Arab-Israeli conflict, media dynamics and the involvement of Non-State actors (Hamas and Hezbollah). It provides insights into the multifaceted nature of identity construction, particularly within the context of the Palestinian struggle and the activities of groups like Hamas and Hezbollah in response to Israel and their broader effect within the Arab world. Indeed, the literature sheds light on the complexities of resistance movements and their roles in shaping regional dynamics, emphasising the intersection between political ideologies, religious affiliations, and social mobilization. Moreover, the literature delves into the diaspora experiences of Arab communities, exploring how transnational ties influence notions of belonging and solidarity beyond the physical borders. In addition, the analyses of media portrayals and narratives affecting the public sentiments lead to their involvement through the externalization of conflict through various forms, including protests and marches. In conclusion, the reviewed literature provides an enriching understanding of the interconnectedness of nationalism, diaspora dynamics, conflict, and media representation in the Arab world within the framework of the Arab-Israeli conflict.

Předběžná náplň práce
This research project aims at examining the intricate dynamics between the Arab diaspora, the externalization of Arab-Israeli security threats and the reshaping Arab nationalism.
Exploring these concepts offers an engaging framework to analyse and understand the complexities of contemporary Middle Eastern politics and global diaspora engagement. At its core, this research delves into the multifaceted interactions between dispersed communities, geopolitical tensions, and evolving notions of identity and belonging. By examining diaspora engagement, political activism, and media narratives, this research seeks to uncover the ways in which diaspora communities amplify security concerns and shape nationalist discourse within and beyond traditional homeland borders.
Moreover, the continuous evolvement of the Arab-Israeli conflict, the involvement of multiple key players, both State and Non-State actors along with the geopolitical and geostrategic significance of the region makes it necessary to analyse the various channels through which diaspora communities contribute to shaping new) narratives and influencing policies.
Furthermore, this study will provide valuable insights into the evolving nature of Arab nationalism, shedding light on its adaptive nature within diaspora communities. Subsequently, this research does not only offer new understanding of migration, identity, and conflict dynamics but also the ways in which diaspora communities amplify security concerns and (re-) shape nationalist discourse within and beyond traditional homeland borders.
In this regard, this research is centred around the following question:
How does the Arab diaspora contribute to the externalization of Arab-Israeli security threats, and what are the implications for the evolution of Arab nationalism?
Sub questions: How does the Arab diaspora (re-)shape the narrative surrounding Arab-Israeli security threats in mainstream media, social networks, and political discourse?
What strategies does the Arab diaspora employ to amplify security concerns and garner international attention?
