Cílem je pochopit evoluční mechanismy a ekologické důsledky partenogeneze (asexuálního rozmnožování) u plazů. Kombinací genomických, histologických a cytologických přístupů, jakož i laboratorních pokusů na zvířatech a terénních experimentů chceme odhalit evoluční původ a možnou konvergenci partenogeneze u různých linií plazů.

The aim is to understand the evolutionary mechanisms and ecological consequences of parthenogenesis (asexual) reproduction strategies in reptiles. Combining genomic, histological and cytological approaches, as well as lab-based animal experiments and field experiments, the thesis will unravel the evolutionary origin and possible convergence of parthenogenesis in different lineages of reptile.
