Cílem projektu je objasnit za využití kombinace několika různých taxonomických metod druhovou diverzitu a fylogenezi rodu Jekelius (Coleoptera: Geotrupidae) ve východním Středomoří. Budou využity metody klasické morfologie dospělců, geometrické morfometrie a molekulární analýzy. Předpokládáme, že vhodná integrace všech výše uvedených metod povede k úspěšné delimitaci taxonů na druhové úrovni a objasnění jejich fylogeneze.
Předběžná náplň práce v anglickém jazyce
The aim of the project is to clarify species diversity and phylogeny of of the genus Jekelius (Coleoptera: Geotrupidae) in eastern Mediterranean by using a combination of several different taxonomy methods. Methods of classical morphology of adults, geometric morphometry and molecular analysis will be used. We assume that the appropriate integration of all the above methods lead to a successful delimitation of taxa at the species level and their phylogeny.
