Předběžná náplň práce

Analytická chemie hraje významnou roli při studiu složení materiálů používaných v minulosti. Tato zjištění poskytují obraz o technologii, společenských zvycích a dalších zajímavých informacích v kontextu, ve kterém byly použity. Získané výsledky pomáhají i historické interpretaci objektů a mohou být důležití i pro restaurátorské a konzervační přístupy. Cílem disertační práce bude aplikace různých metod analytické chemie (HPLC, GC, hmotnostní spektroskopie, Ramanova a infračervená spektroskopie atd.) na studium složení historických farmaceutických přípravků. Vybrané vzorky přípravků pocházejí ze sbírek Národního muzea v Praze (přípravky z 18. století) a Českého farmaceutického muzea v Kuksu (přípravky z 20. století). Cílem disertační práce bude vývoj nových, komplexních strategií pro analýzu těchto vzorků.

Předběžná náplň práce v anglickém jazyce

Analytical chemistry plays a significant importance in reveal and describing the composition of materials used or manipulated in the past. These findings provide a picture of the technology, social customs, and other interesting information in the context in which they were used. Particularly it helps historical interpretation of an object. Moreover, it could be significant for restoration and conservation approaches. This PhD project will be focused on application of various methods of analytical chemistry (HPLC, GC, mass spectroscopy, Raman and infrared spectroscopy, etc.) for revealing of composition and condition of historical pharmaceutical preparations. The selected samples of preparations are coming from collections of National Museum in Prague (preparations from 18th century) and Czech Pharmaceutical Museum in Kuks (preparations from 20th century). The aim of the PhD project will be to develop new, complex strategies for analysis of the samples. Knowing the composition of the samples will permit to attribute the samples which composition is not known (as the labels from the pharmaceutical jars are eroded or missing) or will help to illuminate the unknown or uncertain formulation of the preparations.
