Předběžná náplň práce

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá produkcí investigativní žurnalistiky ze strany neziskových organizací. Fenomén přesunu části investigativní produkce do neziskového sektoru nabývá v posledních letech rychle na významu. Důvodem jsou jak zhoršující se ekonomické podmínky tradičních médií, která v jejich důsledku snižují počty svých redaktorů
a množství zdrojů věnovaných tomuto novinářskému odvětví, tak proměna společenského a politického klimatu, které zásadním způsobem určuje, do jaké míry může být nezávislá investigativní žurnalistika vůbec realizovatelná. Tato práce si poté klade za cíl současný stav neziskové investigativní žurnalistiky zmapovat a nabídnout ucelený pohled na to, jak tento alternativní mediální model může fungovat. Po vymezení teoretických předpokladů pro existenci investigativních organizací v neziskovém sektoru práce identifikuje hlavní výzvy, kterým tyto organizace musí čelit, a zároveň představuje postupy, pomocí kterých mohou neziskové investigativní organizace tyto výzvy překonávat, Závěrečná část je poté věnována dosavadní, téměř pětileté existenci neziskové organizace České centrum pro investigativní žurnalistiku. Autor práce, který pro tuto organizaci již téměř čtyři roky pracuje, na základě vlastních zkušeností s tímto odvětvím hodnotí, do jaké míry
se teoretické a profesní předpoklady fungování tohoto typu médií promítají do skutečnosti.

This thesis focuses on the production of investigative reporting by nonprofit organisations. The phenomena of a partial shift of investigative media production into the nonprofit sector has rapidly gained traction in recent years. One of the reasons for this development has been the declining economic condition of the traditional types of media, resulting
in newsrooms decreasing their staff as well as the overall dedication of resources
to investigative journalism as an extremely expensive form of journalism. The other reason has been the transformation of the political and social spheres, which have an undeniable impact on whether independent investigative journalism is even possible. This paper then aspires to present a comprehensive view on this phenomena and whether it is sustainable. After defining the theoretical conditions for the existence of investigative journalism in the nonprofit sector, the paper identifies the main challenges that emerging nonprofit investigative organizations have to face, as it then also presents steps that these organisations can take in order to overcome these challenges. The final part of the thesis
is dedicated to the five-year existence of the Czech Centre for Investigative Journalism,
an investigative nonprofit. The author of this paper, who has also been a reporter for this organization for the last four years, draws up on his own experience and evaluates to what degree the theoretical nad professional concepts regarding functioning of nonprofit investigative media, layed out in the preceding chapters, are reflected in reality.
