Z protestů jsem si zvolila pět událostí – proslov Malcolma X Message to the Grassroots v roce 1963, zavraždění Malcolma X v roce 1965, výstup Černých panterů na olympijských hrách v Mexiku v roce 1968, akce Free Breakfast for Children 1969 a útoky Černé moci v roce 1971.

This thesis is going to deal with the African-American Civil Rights Movement in the 60th and at the beginning of the 70th and its reflection in the Czech period press. I have chosen five events - the speech Message to the Grassroots by Malcolm X in 1963, the assassination of Malcolm X in 1965, the act of the Black Panthers at the Olympic Games in Mexiko in 1968, the campaign Free Breakfast for Children in 1969 and Black power attacks in 1971. I am going to study, how the Czech socialistic press dealt with activities that although symbolized resistance against american state administration, but at the same time prefered radical forms of protest. I shall research the chosen events in three periodicals.
